Git Of The Week: Luther Campbell aka Uncle Luke.

On Father's Day I wrote a post about Uncle Luke, and the video in which his eldest daughter accuses him of being a deadbeat dad etc. I commented that it was sad if that were the case. Dirty linen aired in public and all that....

However, I heard a radio interview (on Necole Bitchie) where this man publicly disowned 5 of his children and only claimed 1. This is kind of hard for me to stomach being as I used to shake my bootay to his tracks etc, I thought he was a great entertainer, bold and innovative.

Now I think he is simply a git. His attitude is totally disgusting. 'Uncle' Luke gets no l.o.v.e from me.

Update: A discussion on Frank & Wanda (Atl) today was about the suggestion that Black churches encourage black women to remain single. Well... the black churches are full of single black women...and I personally think a lot of pastors like it that way. All these women in subjection to them...I think some pastors get a (secret) kick out of that...

Black men (and men in general) encourage other men to seek a wife, but they encourage women to look for & towards unrealistic goals in a husband. The pastors go on about the qualities that a Man of God should have, knowing full well that that man does not exist.

A major part of the reason many black women in the church appear miserable, frigid, unforgiving, unhappy & undesirable is because they are in desperate need of sex and ultimately love. Which is why when they do 'fall in love' they fall flat on their faces...and back before the pulpit confessing to sins which are not really sins, but simply the actions of a desperate and needy woman.

A pastor once said to me that it is not good for a woman to be alone. I knew full well what he meant, and I made sure that, the miserable cow one sits next to at church (the Pius looking woman who can't crack a smile) would not be me. Not in this lifetime.

Women (and black women in particular) don't let the black church dictate your happiness, read your Bible and pray that God sends someone nice your way. Let's hope He fulfills ALL your needs!
