The peeps in Tivoli (named after Tel Aviv in Israel) Gardens in Jamaica are happy that he is alive and well, and has not been harmed (read: murdered) by the Jamaican Defence Forces et al.

I had to give my head a scratch when I read that he was, himself, relieved and thankful to be alive. What about the hundreds of people killed in his name over the past couple of weeks??? People who could not get milk for their babies because if found on the streets they would get shot, dragged onto a truck and labelled a crime boss supporter...?

Update: A discussion on Frank & Wanda (Atl) today was about the suggestion that Black churches encourage black women to remain single. Well... the black churches are full of single black women...and I personally think a lot of pastors like it that way. All these women in subjection to them...I think some pastors get a (secret) kick out of that...

Black men (and men in general) encourage other men to seek a wife, but they encourage women to look for & towards unrealistic goals in a husband. The pastors go on about the qualities that a Man of God should have, knowing full well that that man does not exist.

A major part of the reason many black women in the church appear miserable, frigid, unforgiving, unhappy & undesirable is because they are in desperate need of sex and ultimately love. Which is why when they do 'fall in love' they fall flat on their faces...and back before the pulpit confessing to sins which are not really sins, but simply the actions of a desperate and needy woman.

A pastor once said to me that it is not good for a woman to be alone. I knew full well what he meant, and I made sure that, the miserable cow one sits next to at church (the Pius looking woman who can't crack a smile) would not be me. Not in this lifetime.

Women (and black women in particular) don't let the black church dictate your happiness, read your Bible and pray that God sends someone nice your way. Let's hope He fulfills ALL your needs!
