I love God but I am not a practicing Christian, so I can go off on this bunch of bullsh*t....
The public outcry and very nasty media circus surrounding the allegations of some limp youths against the renowned Bishop Eddie Long is a damn shame.
Two young men have filed legal complaints against the Bishop, the leader of New Birth Baptist Ministries of Lithonia Ga. The complaints consist of allegations about sexual escapades in national and far flung lands, with an overall suggestion that the Bishop 'misused' his power and position.
One of the things that irk me about this whole piece of shit claim against the Bishop and the church, is that that the accusers are grown arse young men, who were able to resist inappropriate advances etc. Two physically strapping young men, who are not strangers to crime, claim that they were taken advantage of.
They are men and not underage, anything that did or did not take place was with their consent. They were not abused in anyway. It seems to me that they were in the advantageous position of being able to travel internationally with other church members, including the Bishop, and have a taste of a life they would not of otherwise had.
The other thing I hate about this whole media blowup, is that an innocent man and his family and friends are being hurt by these flimsy and silly allegations. So now because these young men are sore about not being able to have free travel and such, or perhaps because they wanted more, innocent people are being subject to spectacle and what amounts to a public trial and (I hope not) crucifixion. I am sure the parallels between the work Bishop does and his recent trials, are not lost on you, dear reader.
The public are baying for blood (as usual) and decrying a man (a man of colour) who has a record of doing nothing but good for his community, the nation and even, on International levels. He is VERY well respected. If you are one of the prattlers who are gossiping about this unfortunate mess, then shame on you, let's hope you are never accused of false crap and made to feel as if you are Lucifer himself.
And one last thing, once the media have moved on to their next victim and this has all blown over, I hope these young greedy upstarts are punished within the full extent of the law here in Georgia, and I hope their respective family members publicly shun them and the nasty behavior which has brought disgrace upon them and theirs.
BTW: if anyone named and involved in this nonsense IS gay then that is an issue for themselves and their family, only.
